BAPTISM  FAQ’S

WHAT IS THE PROCESS TO HAVE A CHILD BAPTIZED?

1.     Must be a registered parishioner here at Holy Family.

     (*If it is not an Out-of-Parish Baptism*)

2.     Parents must attend a ONE session Baptism Class within the past 2 years prior to the desired date of Baptism.

3.     The desired date of Baptism is chosen at the Baptism Class.

4.     Godparents are not required to attend Baptism Class. HOWEVER, at least one of the Godparents must be a practicing Catholic. If the Godparent is not a member of Holy Family, then the Godparent must obtain a Sponsorship Certificate from his/her Parish.

5.     You must fill out a Baptism Class Registration form. This form is filled out 1 time for ANY Baptism class that you wish to attend.

6.     Both the Baptism Class Registration form & the New Parishioner Registration form can be obtained and filled out in the Parish office.
(Office Hours: M-F 8:30AM-9:00PM, Sat 8:30-1:00PM)

*WHAT IF IT IS AN OUT-OF-PARISH BAPTISM?*

1. It is required to provide a “Letter of Permission” & Proof of Attendance at Baptism Class from the Parent’s Parish to have the child baptized at Holy Family.
2. Fill out a “Blank for Baptism Register” yellow form here at Holy Family. This form can be obtained from the Holy Family Parish office. 

WHAT IS THE BAPTISM CLASS SCHEDULE?

       WHEN?       The THIRD THURSDAY of every MONTH.

       WHERE?     Social Hall downstairs

       TIME?         7:15 P.M.

       LENGTH?   Approximately 1 to 1^1/2 hours

       Children Allowed? Yes. If you absolutely cannot arrange babysitting.

           Next Class:                                     (as of today’s date)

HOW OFTEN ARE BAPTISMS PERFORMED?

       WHEN?                      Every Sunday after the 12:15 P.M. Mass.

       ARRIVAL TIME?     1:00 PM (if not attending Mass)

       ITEMS TO BRING?  None. Candles and Bibs provided.

       COST?                        None. Donations accepted.

      HOW MANY?            Usually no more than 6 children.

ARE PRIVATE BAPTISMS AVAILABLE?

YES

You can arrange a private baptism with the Deacon or, if you prefer, a Priest. Contact the Parish Office main number @407-876-2211 and leave a message for Deacon Charles Mallon OR for one of the priests.
